For the price this cover far exceeded my expectations in terms of quality, fit, and ease of use. Purchased for a Ram 3500 with 8 foot bed to protect a 5th wheel hitch. There are several cross supports that are attached to the cover itself and roll up with the cover. When unrolling it there is a cammed locking device at the rear that pulls every tight front to rear. Very effective and easy to use. To release that mechanism you have to drop the tailgate first - offering a little security. I much prefer this setup over the OEM tri-fold setups that I’m more familiar with. Very satisfied with this purchase.
Installed this all by myself without assistance. It would have been easier with another person to help as it is somewhat difficult to line it up by yourself. Easy to set up but the only word of caution I would add is to make sure your alignment is the same in the front and the rear of the cover. I will save you some time of relining it up after the fact and also to insure a water tight seal. This cover is excellent in quality. I have a friend with a Mopar version that cost over a grand and his and mine look almost alike with the exception he has four panels and this one has three.
Arrived early in excellent packaging, installed in about 30 minutes (instructions were spot on). It fits wonderfully. I have already taken it out at interstate highway speeds of 80mph...no problems! I would highly recommend this product. Buyer, make sure you purchase the correct cover for your make/model/year of Ram truck!

Top FAQs About Tonneau Covers Expert Answers Based on Real Installation Experience

Find clear, practical answers to the most common questions truck owners ask about tonneau covers from F150 specific options to Gator, BAK, TruXedo, Extang, DiamondBack, and Lund. These FAQs are written using 40+ years of real installation experience to help you pick the right cover, avoid leaks, choose the right material, and make your truck bed secure.
For Ford F150 owners, the most reliable options are BAK, DiamondBack, Gator, and Extang because they offer strong fitment, better sealing, and long term durability.
Yes, Gator covers are budget friendly and perform great for daily hauling. They offer quick installation and solid water resistance for most pickup trucks.
Most soft roll ups and tri fold covers fit a wide range of pickup truck beds, but for best results always check your truck’s bed size and year.
TruXedo covers offer strong water resistance thanks to tight vinyl tension and Velcro or rail seals, but like any soft cover, complete waterproofing depends on proper alignment.
Yes, hard covers, especially aluminum or composite are significantly more secure. They resist cutting, support more weight, and deter theft better than soft covers.
Extang is known for easy installation, strong clamps, and reliable sealing. Their covers fit tightly and work well in both hot and cold climates.
Absolutely. BAK covers, especially the BAKFlip series, offer premium materials, strong water resistance, and secure locking mechanisms that justify the higher cost.
DiamondBack covers are considered the toughest in the industry. Many models support 1,000+ lbs and offer unmatched security for off road or heavy duty use.
F150 specific covers are engineered to match Ford’s bed rails, dimensions, and tailgate shape, ensuring a cleaner fit and fewer leak points.
Yes, Lund covers provide solid performance at a lower price range, making them great for drivers who want protection without overspending.
